Massage Therapy Terms & Contraindications
Please read the following carefully before your session.
General Understanding
I understand that the massage I receive is provided for the basic purpose of relaxation and relief of muscular and emotional tension.
If I experience any pain or discomfort during the session, I will immediately inform the therapist so that pressure or technique may be adjusted to my comfort.
I understand that massage is not a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment.
I acknowledge that Massage Therapists are not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, prescribe, or treat any physical or mental illness, and nothing said in the course of a session should be construed as such.
Massage should not be performed under certain medical conditions. I affirm that I have stated all known medical conditions and answered all questions honestly. I agree to update my therapist regarding any changes to my health profile before future sessions.
I understand that the Massage Therapist reserves the right to refuse treatment if they deem that massage may be contraindicated.
I acknowledge that the therapist is not responsible for adverse reactions that may occur if contraindications are not disclosed or if medical advice has not been sought where recommended.
